Datacenter Dangers #38 – Imagine that Montgomery County, Maryland wants only DataCenters no Private Land-owners

Four straight years of double-digit property tax hikes: What if MoCo literally wants only DataCenters as residents — literally zero private residential property…then suddenly all their evermore incredible insanity makes perfect sense. Could They actually accomplish it? Would not an astronomical electricity price coupled with endless double-digit property tax hikes actually drive out everyone? …forcing most into 15-minute cities such as the looming Lakeforest Mull. How could They accomplish the unimaginable? One way would be to slowly jack the electricity cost and property taxes until economics become untenable. Is that not precisely what we are seeing? Maybe “They” are not abiding best interests of you nor America? WEF: “You will own nothing and be happy.” // Karl Marx Communist Manifesto: No private land ownership.

Meanwhile, elsewhere — compare: Fire maps vs Datacenter maps — it might surely look like homes – many, many homes – are being burned down to make way for Datacenters – unbelievable? See for yourself:

When you couple godless military-industrialized corporate ‘private equity funds’ such as Blackrock or ilk with unlimited funds, a legal imperative to maximize profits, and the concentrated, unequalled tax-golden-goose that is Datacenters with essentially perfected military (“Directed Energy”) weaponry so far beyond general awareness that comprehension equates magic, then “science fiction” is clear and present danger.

Do you remember when Senator Paul Wellstone’s plane was found cremated down to white ash amidst a forest of unburned trees? Compare each of the many, many homes also cremated down to white ash amidst unburned nearby/adjacent trees. Wellstone’s other contemporaries who also vociferously objected to the onerous PATRIOT ACT received life-threatening mailings of fine anthrax powder that was later traced to military biowarfare lab Fort Detrick in Frederick, Maryland. Do you remember that? Keep thinking schemes at this level of wicked — incomprehensible to normal minds and kind hearts — are anything but already underway. WEF/Klaus: “You will own nothing and be happy.”

Re-examine complexion in that light.

“Montgomery County just handed me an 11% property tax hike — the 4th straight year of double-digit increases. Here’s the receipt, and here’s the math on where this is headed.”

Montgomery County just handed me an 11% property tax hike — the 4th straight year of double-digit increases. Here’s the receipt, and here’s the math on where this is headed.

My property tax bill:

2013-14 to 2022-23 (9 years): rose just 16% — completely normal
2022-23 to 2026-27 (4 years): rose 56% — from $9,393 to $14,662

That’s not inflation. That’s political choices — a 4.7-cent rate hike in FY2024, then the county quietly eliminating my $692 homeowner tax credit entirely by this year.

If they keep this up for 4 more years, my bill hits ~$22,900 — another 56% increase, on top of what I’ve already absorbed.

They’ll tell you it’s for the schools. Here’s the problem: my kids graduated MCPS in 2013 and 2020. Back in 2009-2015, MCPS routinely had 6-7 high schools in Newsweek’s national top 100 rankings, and in 2015 US News ranked Maryland the #1 state for high schools with Montgomery County leading. Today, countywide state test proficiency is down to 36% in math and 57% in reading, and a 2024 national parent survey ranked MCPS 220th out of 250 districts. We are paying dramatically more for outcomes that have gotten worse, not better.

My ask, before November: roll the tax rate/credit back to the 2024-25 level, plus a normal cost-of-living adjustment — that’s about $12,800, not $14,662.

The politicians on 2026 November ballot who voted for these increases :

Marc Elrich (architect — now running for Council At-Large),

Will Jawando,

Kristin Mink,

Kate Stewart,

Marilyn Balcombe,

Natali Fani-González,

Dawn Luedtke,

Laurie-Anne Sayles.
